One of Iowa's most sought-after football recruits in recent history has taken a big step closer to making his college decision.

Clear Creek Amana defensive end T.J. Bollers, who is the Register's No. 1 in-state 2021 prospect and a consensus four-star talent, released his final six schools Tuesday: Iowa State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Cal, Alabama and Northwestern.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder currently has June official visits scheduled to Iowa State, Wisconsin and Cal. He has also previously taken unofficial visits to Nebraska, Wisconsin, Cal and Northwestern.

Clear Creek Amana's T.J. Bollers (88) looks to the sideline for a call in the pouring rain during a Class 3A varsity football game on Friday evening, Oct. 5, 2018, at Clear Creek Amana Stadium in Tiffin, Iowa.

Iowa State got involved first, offering Bollers in January after his freshman year at CCA. Iowa was next to offer in May. Although Bollers lives 10 minutes from Kinnick Stadium and his father, Trevor Bollers, played for Iowa in the 1990s, the Hawkeyes have been thought to be on the outside looking in for quite some time.

Wisconsin, Iowa State, Nebraska and Cal have consistently been considered among the favorites. Then Alabama offered in February, and head coach Nick Saban has since made a recruiting push. Saban recently had a FaceTime conversation with Bollers. Northwestern also offered in February and no doubt appeals to the CCA junior's high-academic preferences.

Bollers recorded 29 tackles, four solo tackles for loss and three sacks this past season while often facing double- and triple-teams.
