Iowa finished last season with a 6-2 record and was voted No. 15 in the final Amway Coaches' Poll and No. 16 in the final Associated Press poll. The team had six-game winning streak before games against Michigan and Missouri were canceled.

Spring practice starts Tuesday. The final spring practice/game set for May 1.

During his news conference Monday, Ferentz said the season represents a "new opportunity" for the team.

Ferentz said it's important for players to understand that the season is "a fresh opportunity" no matter who they are or where they are on the depth chart.
