You've gotta see this fake field-goal touchdown for Iowa against Minnesota

The "New Kirk" fad has been a cute way to describe Kirk Ferentz's new half-penchant for being more aggressive on fourth down.

But I'm not sure anyone quite expected this.

The Iowa football team converted a wild, swinging gate-type fake field-goal attempt for a touchdown in the first half of Saturday's game against Minnesota.

On a fourth-and-goal attempt from inside the 5-yard line, Iowa punter Colten Rastetter was set up in a deep shotgun formation behind center Jackson Subbert. The rest of the Iowa offensive line had shifted to the far right-hand side of the field pre-snap.

Suddenly, Subbert shoveled the ball to his right (a legal action) on the snap, where tight end T.J. Hockenson was waiting to receive the ball with plenty of blockers in front for a rugby-style touchdown.

Just take a look.

Iowa took a 28-17 lead into halftime on the road in Minneapolis.
