Iowa State football has added a third member to its 2022 recruiting class.

Carson Willich, a three-star linebacker out of the Kansas City area, announced his commitment to the Cyclones via Twitter on Friday. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound athlete picked Iowa State over Kansas State, Northwestern and Vanderbilt. He had official visits scheduled to Iowa State, Kansas State and Northwestern scheduled in June, but he felt confident enough to make the commitment now.

The Cyclones gave Willich his first scholarship offer in October and were a constant presence in his recruitment since. Willich, Sergeant Bluff-Luton linebacker Jacob Imming and Harlan linebacker Will McLaughlin were all high-level targets for Iowa State in this class. So far, it has landed Willich and Imming.
