Kylie Feuerbach, who spent most of the 200-21 season as a starter for Iowa State, is transferring to Iowa.

Kylie Feuerbach didn't have to go far to find a new school.

Feuerbach, who spent most of the 2020-21 season as a starter on the Iowa State women's basketball team, announced on Twitter on Friday that she will transfer to in-state rival Iowa.

The 6-foot guard from Illinois averaged 5.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 28 games, including 24 starts as a freshman for the Cyclones during the 2020-21 season. It's a big loss for the Cyclones and a huge get for the Hawkeyes. And it adds even more heat to the Cy-Hawk rivalry.

Feuerbach, who was ranked the 71st-best player in her high school class by ESPN, was part of a highly decorated recruiting class at Iowa State. She made an instant impact, earning a starting spot right away and taking Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Week honors twice.

Feuerbach later rotated in and out of the lineup with fellow freshman Aubrey Joens. She then entered the transfer portal in April.

Iowa State still has the other parts of its freshman class coming back with Joens, Emily Ryan and Lexi Donarski.

Feuerbach, meanwhile, will join another talented player coming off a strong freshman season. Iowa star Caitlin Clark was Feuerbach's teammate with the All Iowa Attack.
