The Iowa State women’s basketball team’s freshman class was one of the biggest reasons for the Cyclones’ success during the 2020-21 season.

The Cyclones are now losing a key member of that class.

Freshman Kylie Feuerbach, who started 22 games during her first season with the Cyclones, has entered the transfer portal. Feuerbach, a 6-foot guard from Illinois, averaged 5.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.

She played in 26 games during the season and became a mainstay in the starting lineup alongside fellow freshmen Emily Ryan and Lexi Donarski. The three, along with another freshman, Aubrey Joens, were big contributors during Iowa State’s season that finished with a 17-11 record and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Freshman Kylie Feuerbach has entered the transfer portal after just one season at Iowa State.

Feuerbach played a major role. She averaged 21.7 minutes per game and was named the Big 12 Conference’s Freshman of the Week twice. She was expected to play a big role for the Cyclones again next season as a sophomore with Ryan and Donarski back along with Joens' older sister Ashley.

Feuerbach came to Iowa State as part of one of the most decorated recruiting classes in program history. She was ranked No. 71 overall by ESPN in her class.
