Country star Thomas Rhett returns to Des Moines to kick off his tour.

Country crooner Thomas Rhett is coming to the metro with a May 4, 2023, stop at Wells Fargo Arena, 233 Center St. in Des Moines.

The Billboard chart-topper, who is best known for hits such as "Die A Happy Man" and "Look What God Gave Her," will be flanked in Des Moines by country star Cole Swindell and buzzy newcomer Nate Smith.

In 2018, Rhett performed to a sold-out crowd at the Iowa State Fair, with more than 15,700 audience members in attendance following the release of his first No. 1 studio album "Life Changes," which featured singles such as "Marry Me" and "Unforgettable."

Swindell has made a homespun mark on country radio this year with a trio of popular tracks: "She Had Me At Heads Carolina," "Stereotype," and "Single Saturday Night."

Smith first came to mainstream fame during 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with popular TikTok sound "Wildfire." He's having a breakout year with the success of "Whiskey on You," a gritty song about giving up on an ex.

Rhett is the son of country singer-songwriter Rhett Akins and the father of four has gained popularity on social media platforms by giving followers an inside look at his life on and off the road with wife Lauren, who is famous in her own right.

Tickets for the Home Team Tour 23 go on sale Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at Hy-VeeTix.com and the venue's ticket office.
